I can't believe Beck was only a year older than me. He looked much older with that stache.

I will miss Rod. That guy had the best pornstache in major league history. Talk about a love for the game. He bought a trailer and lived out behind the centerfield wall of the Iowa Cubs complex hoping for a tryout.

He finally got one and in his last season in the majors with the Padres he converted 20 of 20 save opportunities.

Not a better feeling in baseball than knowing that If you have a lead after the 7th inning the game is over. Mike Jackson with his hat almost below his eyes would set up Beck, and Beck was lights out in the 9th. Big reason why in 1993 Billy Swift and John Burkett both won 20 games.
