Default Holy Schmoly, this is hilarious

It's so offensive and outlandish, you can't help but crack up. It's a cartoon that purports to explain Mormon beliefs.

I think SU would prefer this to the PBS doc! Maybe not. But I know Aaronshaf is all over this like flies on ExUte!

Funny AND offensive to be sure.

But everything in it I have heard taught as Mormon theology by Mormons who raised me except: 1) Joseph Smith was descended from Elohim; 2) Joseph Smith will sit beside Jesus and Elohim at the judgment bar; 3) Jesus had three wives and babies. I never heard that stuff before.

Nice find, Waters.

Do you think it's effective in alienating potential converts?

No. Because someone will watch it and think "that Mike Waters, he believes this stuff? I can't believe that he would believe this stuff."

And then he asks me what we believe. And before you know it, I have invited him to attend church with me.

No unhallowed hand, SU. No unhallowed hand.

SU, if I told you that I knew your favorite team would lose every game, and I mean EVERY GAME through the ETERNITIES, would you still be be pained by every loss?

I can imagine that that is what it must feel like to root against Mormonism.

It's not like I root against Mormonism. It's like you're amphibious and I breath air.

The Mormon Jesus and Elohim blink, but Joseph Smith doesn't.

That speaks to me.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

I never knew all the females in heaven were blondes. I guess my wife is s.o.l.
