Default Floyd Genius?

Roger Waters is going to be in concert near my house soon. There is an ad in the paper in which he is billed as the “Creative Genius of Pink Floyd.”

Two questions:

1. DO you think he was the creative Genius of Pink Floyd?

2. If you were him, would you allow yourself to be described as such?

BTW, if you don’t know who Waters is or what he has to do with Floyd, never mind.

I don't know if he was the creative guy behind Floyd, but I do know that Pink Floyd is one of my all time favorite bands.

THey are also one of my favorite bands. I also think Waters was a creative force. I nonetheless have a hard time seeing myself at my desk with proposed ad language and saying something like "lets use the one where I am called a creative genius." Of course, if you are a creative genius, maybe you recognize it. It still seems pretty cheeky, however. (And Waters is a control freak, which is one of the reasons he is performing solo and not with the other Floydians, so I am very doubtful that he didn't see the ad).

Barrett, Waters, and Gilmour are all creative geniuses IMO. If I had to pick a #1, it would be Waters though. I didn't care for the Barrett version of Floyd, although he really left his mark on the band for years to come and was a big inspiration for Wish you were Here and Dark Side. Post Waters Floyd isn't as good either, although Momentary Lapse of Reason is a decent album. And David Gilmour is still a genius guitarist.
