Default How do people actually enjoy watching American Idol?

Honestly...I don't get the allure for bad karaoke.

I sat through tonight's 2 painful hours with my brother, sister in law and girlfriend.

My girlfriend hates watching 24 because she's uber sensitive to violence.

AI was a violent assault on my senses. What an awful show.

You are preaching to the choir on this one. I cannot stand that show.

I watched it tonight and thought it was hilarious. I loved the kid from Midvale, Utah. He reminded me of a couple of mission companions I had.

I watch because I enjoy the reaction when people's dreams intersect with reality.

Once it gets to final 20 or whatever, I check out. But these intitial shows can be mildly entertaining.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.
