It seems our friend Aaron has been busy. None of it on his boss' time, I'm sure.

Yeah I was looking for that too. But then I noticed his times were usually early in the morning or late at night. Then I realized I'm guilty as hell of what I was trying to bust him for. So I decided to keep my mouth shut.

This is one of the nice things about being self-employed. Sometimes I have to yell at myself.

I think the world would be a more intellectually sound place if we ALL got to set up websites like mormonwiki. Then we could each inconspicuously cite ourselves as authorities on all matters.

You guys should take up a collection and buy evangelicalwiki.org. That'd be fun.

Some Mormons get caught up in bashing evangelicals. I think it's mostly because we want something fight back against.

I wouldn't have anything to write on such a website. I truly believe the evangelical doctrine is so close to Mormon doctrine that the differences only lie in the minutiae--which are hardly worth haggling over. I love Evangelical preachers and listen on the radio and read books of theirs quite frequently. I'm reading Ragamuffin Gospel now. It's not intellectual stuff but it inspires.

??????????????????????? I am guessing you don't know what evangelicals believe. Either that or you choose to ignore the profound differences.

Your comments are why it would be fun to have an evangelicalwiki.org site. We could post nothing but niceties and point out the positives. It would be much more effective than bashing. It'd drive 'em nuts.

And a lot of work, pouring through historical documents searching for zingers to challenge Evangelical faith. Hmmmm, I don't know.

Evangelicals of the world (including you, Aaron), I just don't know that I have it in me to commit to a long-term relationship by doing the heavy lifting needed to trash those things that you consider sacred. Using that as a measure, I guess what I'm trying to say, and believe me, this hurts me more that it hurts you, I just don't love you like you love me.

But we can still be friends.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.
