Default Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...

Anyone here a fan of this film?

If so, can you give me a few reasons as to why I should see it?

I was arguing with my wife about buying this. She wanted to because she saw it with her sisters and loved it. I had absolutely no interest in it and still don't, unless someone can convince me otherwise.

Definitely a must see. Along with What Dreams May Come, it's the best modern chick flick/romantic movie I've seen, and might make my top 20 list of all time.

A scene at the end is one of my favorite scenes when it comes to romantic love. Twisting the scene into instead of a romantic relationship, our relationship with the Savior is one of my favorite ever illustrations of Christ's unconditional love and grace. The line from the movie that captured it all...Jim Carrey saying "OK". I won't give you any more than that to ruin the moment.

Jim Carrey and Kate Winslett are great. Another example of a comedy actor that nails a dramatic performance, like Adam Sandler in Punch, Drunk, Love and Steve Carell in Little Miss Sunshine.

P.S. Charlie Kaufman wrote the screenplay. He teams with Spike Jonze in Being John Malkovich. And also a lesser known film Adaptation, which is a brilliant film that makes my top 20 list.

Charlie Kaufman was also a writer on the show Get a Life.

Ditto to what the others have said. Very unique story/script.

I appreciate the comments thus far.

I do have to say, however, that chick flicks/romantic films really do annoy the hell out of me. Not sure why, but they always have. Somewhere in Time should be considered cruel and unusual punishment. (That's my wife's all-time favorite film - I'd rather crush my testicles in an industrial vice than see it.)

Keep 'em coming.

It was OK. I guess it's worth seeing, but I am in no hurry to see it again.

I really do not consider this movie a chick flick. Yes it is a love story, but it is not told in the typical chick flick type way. It is as much about losing love as it is about falling in love.

It is a great and creative script.
