Uncle Ted makes a good point in that it would be better to see the perp dead than the victim. And in each scenario presented, it would have been self defense.

He is surprisingly articulate in speaking to his intended audience. The Calis of the world would find him to be a buffoon, but he knows his audience well, and plays the game.

I agree that he says things to the target audience that they like to hear, but Nugent is a true defender or the 2nd Amendment. He really does believe what he says. He's been consistent in his comments for 30+ years.

He sounds sincere and acts consistent with his belief. I don't believe he's an idiot, but the gun haters probably see him as a dumb redneck, and in a culturally subtle way, he's actually quite sophisticated.

But he plays the tough guy well, and tailors his message effectively.

Agreed.

What we see is his on-camera persona and pretty much everyone, regardless their point of view, will be more animated on camera.
