Default The three reddest states this year were...

1) Oklahoma 66% McCain
2) Wyoming 65% McCain
3) Utah 63% McCain
(Arizona was tied for 16th at 54%)

The bluest states, not counting Washington DC:

2) Rhode Island 63% Obama
3) New York 62% Obama
(Illinois was 6th at 61%)

Oklahoma broke identically to 2004. But in 2004 Utah was 72% red. A 10 point shift is huge. I wonder what accounted for that much of a swing.

Can we all agree that this negates the legitimacy of any Black 14 whining when BYU goes to Laramie to trounce the Pokes sometime next fall?

Idaho, Utah and Alaska have gone red in every presidential election since 1964, the longest streaks in the nation, including longer than the deep south who unanimously went for Carter, plus more recently a few of them went for Clinton.
