Default Drudge is trying his best to help McCain out.

This is his latest post, under the headline:

"2001 Obama: Tragedy that Redistribution of Wealth not Pursued"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iivL4c_3pck

After listening to the audio, it is clearly taken out of context.

Last week, Drudge was touting 2 week old polls showing McCain "closing the gap!"

Well, because pretty much every other media source is pimping Obama and doing it's part to get him elected, someone other than Fox ought to help out McCain, right?

That's odd. You'd think Cali would think this a positive thing, that Drudge is trying to help Obama by further advertising his desire to spread the wealth.

I think we have a tacit Cali admission here that (1) Obama is a closet socialist and (2) America does not like socialists for the presidency.

I don't think socialist means what you think it means.

My thoughts to you exactly.

Nonetheless, it's curious you think this is a negative.

What do you think socialism means, Tex? Seriously- do tell. What definition of socialism are you trying to apply?

I don't think what Obama said is at all a negative. I think McCain is clearly trying to get some sway out of the "redistribution of wealth" comment, and Drudge is clearly trying to push that talking point as well. Does it hurt Obama? I would say that the polls suggest it hasn't hurt him at all. People see through McCain's comment for the silliness that it is.

Then it confuses me how you think this is Drudge "helping" McCain. If the statement he's linking to is not "at all a negative" then Drudge is actually trying to help Obama, no?

Whether or not I believe that the comments are damaging has nothing to do with whether or not McCain/Drudge think they are damaging. Drudge is parroting McCain's line about redistribution of wealth, quite clearly in an attempt to help out McCain. The fact that Drudge is wrong and that it won't help McCain isn't particularly relevant to his motives, is it? Funny that something this simple is so challenging for you to grasp.

Now, onto another issue you clearly don't understand: what is your definition of socialism?
