after hearing the first half of the debate was McCain was clearly the better candidate.

His answers to the "cut back on spending" and "Iraq plan" (Obama, my man, who cares why we went there at this point? What the hell is going to happen from here on out?) questions were far and away better than Obama's. The rest of the debate was fairly even in my mind, but how those two questions worked out gave McCain the advantage for me.

The condescending smirks were off-putting, though.

I've since read my lefty blogs and convinced myself it was a draw at worse for Obama.

CNN.com has a transcript of the debate, along with "highlights", but I can't find if they'll be rebroadcasting it in its entirety.

A transcript will at least give me an idea of what was going on. Thanks for pointing me that way.
