This is not surprising. We already know she's a fundamentalist evangelical.

But two things I'd want to point out for the sake of fairness:

1. There are an awful lot of references to Wasilla AOG and its wackier teachings, but Palin hasn't attended that church in years. It would be roughly equivalent to holding Seattle accountable for the lesser-known teachings of the BoM.

2. A lot of the darker stories we hear of Palin's past leadership are strictly hearsay. And there's no telling what kind of vendettas these women have against Palin and how desperately they want to take her down. There's one woman in particular whose name I see in nearly every story. It makes you wonder.

Anyhow, that said, I have no doubt, based on what I've read, that Palin believes in the literal authenticity of scripture, in an Earth that is 10,000 years old, and in a bodily return of Jesus of Nazareth sometime in the very near future.

Way to go, you've just offended the faith of most everybody here, or at least most everybody at your average LDS sacrament meeting.

(I almost said, "So does Mitt Romeny." But I don't think he believes any of that stuff, really.)

So they talk to a minister of another faith who was a political opponent going back to her city council days, and they find he has a few negative things to say about her. Shocker.

What was she, 28 when she allegedly did/said some of this stuff?

Cali and Salon are quite pathetic.

I didn't say there was anything WRONG with any of those beliefs.

I've decided nobody really believes such things. It's just code-speak that lets you into an exclusive club. And I'm the last one to know!

Let me be the first one to commend you for learning to read the paper more critically.

No, there are lots of people that passionately believe such things. I would pay good money to see you take your kids to the Creation Museum in Kentucky. If nothing else you and the curators can bond over your mutual affection for Ms. Palin.

And I'd like to be the first to commend you for actually bothering to read at all. Or did you have your secretary summarize for you again?
