Cyclist killed in Utah
http://www.heraldextra.com/content/view/172195/
I'm not exactly sure where Saratoga Springs is. Sounds like it was a blink-of-the-eye thing, probably unavoidable per the report. |

This guy worked for Bell. There is an article about him on Velonews right now.
Saratoga Springs is West-ish of Lehi on the tip of Utah Lake. Last APril that is where my group started our Tour de Utah ride (we Rode to St. George duing the next three or four days). It is a typical Utah town; nothing special, although I do recall the shoulders were very narrow on SR 68 at that stretch until we got out of town. From the sound of the accidcent, however, it sounds like the death resulted from events beyond anyone's conscious control, except perhpas for the deceased. I guess the moral of the story is to pay close attention when you are in a pack or riding a pace line and, if you fall, fall away from traffic if possible.

Apparently he raced nationally. In fact, I believe I've raced against him in a masters race. He was faster than I of course.
