Default Keeping your mouth shut in this church

I was discussing the Danzig thing with my dad, and I remarked to him that the best thing you can do in this church is keep your mouth shut.

My dad said "yes, that's what my father told me as well. Because if you say anything, you'll be asked to do the work."

I kind of chuckled, thinking that this man however many years ago probably at my age came to many of the same conclusions.

However, my grandfather actually dedicated many years of service to the church in distant lands far away from family, and with likely little remuneration. (No he was not a GA or MP or any other kind of ecclesiastical leader. he was never a Bishop or BP either).

I guess my grandfather didn't follow his own advice. He did the work.

I hope you're not saying he wasted his time?
