Some will be feeling bi-polar from the "Caring from the Flock" press release, but this is good news! You better believe I will preorder the first two volumes of the Joseph Smith Papers Project (which has been endorsed by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission--no small feat, that!)

There will be more openness in the future, as the Church has no option. But it is a good thing.

The NHPRC putting its stamp of approval on the Joseph Smith Papers project tells me that the work is legit. The new publishing arm will mean some kind of archive access as well, I think.
