Jazzed about LOST
Last 4-6 episodes of last season were great. The writers have a plan and aren't screwing with us anymore. This season should be great.

I have never seen an episode. Would you recommend renting the first few seasons and watching? Seems like a lot of effort and time. Is it worth it?

I think it's worth it - one of the best series this decade.

I had a class mate tell me the same thing today. 24 is the only actiony drama I watch, which despite the great concept, has been great only in short bursts separated by lots of mediocrity (don't kill me, as I know many others love it). Perhaps I'll start on Lost the next time I'm in need of something to watch.

If you like good character development while getting the hell frustrated out of you waiting for a payoff every 94358203523th epsiode at the same time, then by all means go for it.

definitely worth it. i got a few colleagues hooked on it before season 2. they both rented seasons 1 and 2 and did a marathon viewing of the first 2 seasons in about a month before season 3 started. they are obsessed now. it's a great show.

I like it but the show sort of "jumped the shark" for me when they introduced the black smoke creature. I still watch the show and am interested but I cringe and groan in every episode that has that mysterious black smoke monster. I think the introduction of that storyline/aspect was unnecessary and lame.

I am not kidding, that is the same point I stopped watching the show. When it appeared, I walked out of the living room proclaiming to my wife, DONE! When the movie The Abyss beats you at special effects, time to quit. |

Love the show too. The second half of season 3 was about as good as a TV show can get, IMO.
