How much bitching about the schedule will there be?

I will always bitch about the schedule as long as we are in the MWC and we are playing less than three BCS schools a year. Well actually I just promised to stop bitching because it won't do any good. But I'll probably still bitch.
Whether we make BCS or not is a completely seperate issue. If we're a great team we'll make BCS regardless of whether we play 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11, 12, or 13 BCS teams in a year. |

Let's say Washington has some scheduling conflicts and backs out of their deal with us and we replace them with Weber State.
How pissed would YOU be if in '09 when Hall and Collie are seniors and Unga is dominating and we blow through the crap schedule we have but voters keep us back like they did with Hawaii and computers do too, due to SOS. And then we trip up and have a bad game late in the season, lose, and fall out of BCS contention, but win the MWC and play a 6-6 5th place Pac 10 team. Might be the best BYU team in history and nobody in the country will watch them on TV, nobody will talk about them, and we'll never really even know how good they were. How bad would that suck? When you lighten up the schedule you increase the risk of having one bad game and the impact it has on your season outcome. |

I will still bitch. I don't want BYU to be a bunch of pussies, and I want an entertaining season, not just 1 entertaining game. BYU owes its fans and players better than a dumbed down schedule.

Like you said Jay, it's a Conference affiliation problem.
Always will be as long we're in a Non-BCS Conference.

And if BYU makes the BCS with their "dumbed down" schedule then they'll be vindicated with that approach no matter how much it irritates you.

For the record...I'm not for scheduling down either and am not happy about putting another D-IAA team on our schedule but there's nothing I can do about that except to piss and moan.
