I had an Evel Knievel lunch box in first grade
The back of it had an image of him trying to jump the Snake River. It was bad ass.

Imagine rolling to school with this bad boy, while sporting some red Tuffskins jeans from JCPenneys and a blue windbreaker...hardcore.

An American original for sure. To kids of the 70's and early 80's he was the man. R.I.P. Evel.

This has been a big year.
First, Anna Nicole. Then Barbaro. Then Kevin DuBrow of Quiet Riot. Now Evel. Who's next?

Yep. Or, maybe more accurately, he self-liberated the ghost.

That's right! Bill Willis died a few days ago. He used to play for the Browns.
So sad.

A part of me died. This guy was a god.
My little bro and I got the wind up motorcycle for xmas one year. We found where they hid it and we would get it out and play with it if mom ran somewhere on an errand. http://www.iamspencer.com/2006/12/14...l-stunt-cycle/ This was probably the finest toy I received as a lad. I made a ramp, put all the fisher price cars and endlessly jumped the hero over them. My brother and I would experiment with ramp elevation to get the optimal distance from a jump. Even thought about how to make a flaming hoop, but luckily never built it. Then of course, dual ramps, me on one, my brother on the other, and try to get the timing right to have a mid air collision. boy, they don't make toys like that anymore.
