I agree. Mr. Whipple was acting as a symbol of patriarchy fighting women in their quest for empowerment. An agent of sexual repression. They found pleasure in squeezing the toilet paper and he did all he could to deny them, but to no avail. Ultimately every woman portrayed squeezed the Charmin.

Whatever happened to "The Customer is Always Right?" These people were not testing out sanitary napkins. They were simply copping a hygienic feel off of something that would soon be cleansing their nether-regions.

I wonder if Whipple worked in the same grocery store as the black woman who hung out in the cleaning aisle promoting Pine Sol? You never saw that aisle in the Charmin commercials, so technically it is possible.
