Default On the magical point of view...

We talked about how many members believe that garments can have special powers of physical protection. Not just that they will be blessed by God because they have chosen to faithfully wear them, but that the actual garment itself is imbued with protection from God. In other words, that the garment, through God, mediates the protection.

Like Joseph believed that God's will or revelation might be mediated through an inanimate object like a stone or crystal.

So, do we live in a physical world, something like the testing center, where we go through our lives and fill in the bubbles until time is up. Our tests are sent through the machine and scored and the grade is delivered. This is a very sanitized, simple sort of existence.

Or do we live in messy world where the physical butts with the spiritual (as in the dead), where spirits and devils may just be around the corner, where the priesthood is not a concept and practice, but rather something akin to Frodo's glowing sword, protecting us from that which lurks.

In other words, how mystical are you?
