Default Name your top 5 revelatory "wish list"

Which 5 things you most wish the Prophet would reveal to the general membership of the church?

1. Commencement of building of New Jerusalem in Missouri.
2. Sealed portion of the plates
3. That women can hold all non-priesthood callings (like Sunday School President)
4. New additions to D&C "thus saith the Lord"
5. Full implementation of the law of consecration (not really hoping for this, but would be interesting to see how members respond).

That the church fully supports and back the BYU football program and they are doing away with the honor code and making BYU more like the wards and stakes in the church.

I don't think that "reveal" only means "entirely new." Prophets occasionally go avant garde, but much of revelation work is montage. They help us see old things in new and unexpected ways through juxtaposition, rearrangement, and pastiche.

1. There's a neglected tradition of scriptural poetry that I'd love to see revived. I find it inspiring. Job, Song of Solomon, and Psalms are a part of it. I'd love to see some poetic writing from the Restoration get the scriptural nod. There's plenty of awful Mormon poetry, but some of the poems of Eliza R. Snow, Augusta Joyce Crocheron, and Josephine Spencer are downright wonderful and spiritually powerful. Put them in the PoGP (or in a whole new book!). Ana, Huldah, Miriam, and Deborah are an unjustifiably lonely group of prophetesses.

2. Select a few insightful GA talks or writings from the first half of the 20th century that seem to have extraordinary power today (in Benjamin's terms, they'd have the messianic power of intruding on the "present" with the "now") and add them to the D&C.

3. Add some of Joseph Smith's writings on religious tolerance to the D&C.

4. Take a piece of writing from somewhere in the world, even a piece from another faith tradition, declare it inspired, and add it to the POGP. If this work was long enough it could be it's own book of scripture.

5. A revelation on the power and experience of the temple endowment would be welcome too.

6. A revelation reestablishing the importance of the office of Patriarch in the stakes of the Church, detailing and expanding his duties and responsibilities. Make it a position for a "leader" that has equal standing with the SP "manager."

Couldn't keep it at five. And I'm just getting started.

The only change I'd really like to see is one that allows non-LDS family members to attend temple weddings. Probably not going to happen.

A firm date on the second coming so I know when to get serious.

Get rid of the Honor Code Office. No star chamber trials and no anonymous snitching. I agree with 71, Bishops can handle it.

The rest deal with helping BYU football and/or pissing off ute fans:

Lavell to the Qo12. For the life of me I don't know why this hasn't already happened.

BYU's president is a GA, why not the football coach. Bronco as a Seventy. No additional duties, except for GC talks Can you imagine the collective brain aneurism ALUF's will experience?

Tithing funds will support BYU Athletics.

One more:

A special revelation calling NorCal Cat, Mike Waters and FMCoug to return to Zion (Utah). They might apostatize. No big loss.

1. Share their testimonies about Christ that are "too sacred" to share now (i.e., their face-to-face experience with God).

2. Foretell future events.

Let me add some

7. I'd like to know more about having your calling and election made sure

8. The role of priesthood in a blesssing (If faith is what really heals the person then why do the blessing?)

9. What is the significance and/or blessings of the washing of the feet ordinance and is that only available to the prophet?

10. More clarification on the "dusting of the feet"

11. the papryi in the Pearl of great price have several explanations that say "can be found in the temple of the Lord" How about a place in the temple where one could find out?

1. Clarification on common teachings that may or may not be true doctrine.

We will all be Heavenly Fathers and Mothers creating worlds in the eternity.

God was once a man.

All the other school of the prophets kind of stuff that hasn't been taught by a living prophet in my lifetime.

2. Acceptance and emphasis of grace doctrine. Teach people to stop saying constantly "I hope I can be worthy of blessings." Guess what? YOU'RE NOT AND YOU NEVER WILL BE. Teach people that God does love us unconditionally.

3. Complete overhaul of church court disciplinary system.
