Default my idea for a musical number in sacrament mtg

A tasteful adaptation of U2's "40". Which is based on Psalm 40.

I'm thinking organ, piano, choir. Organ plays the bass line. Piano provides chordage. Women sing the melody/harmony, and men providing harmony in the form of humming.

I think it's cool. Farrah is thinking about it (she has the skillz to actually do an adaptation like this).

Make sure you get the bishop's OK ahead of time. You don't want him to bust out the Vaudeville cane on you.

And make sure your act is good enough to avoid being 'gonged.'

Oh wait, different show.

No, I won't bother with permission.

Being furious about it not getting performed is just as satisfying as having it performed. Or maybe even more so.

I'm waiting for the reenactment of Samuel's prescribed journey for Saul in 1 Samuel 10:

5 After that you shall come to Gibeath-elohim, at the place where the Philistine garrison is; there, as you come to the town, you will meet a band of prophets coming down from the shrine with harp, tambourine, flute, and lyre playing in front of them; they will be in a prophetic frenzy.

6 Then the spirit of the Lord will possess you, and you will be in a prophetic frenzy along with them and be turned into a different person.

7 Now when these signs meet you, do whatever you see fit to do, for God is with you.

8 And you shall go down to Gilgal ahead of me; then I will come down to you to present burnt offerings and offer sacrifices of well-being. Seven days you shall wait, until I come to you and show you what you shall do."

9 As he turned away to leave Samuel, God gave him another heart; and all these signs were fulfilled that day.

10 When they were going from there to Gibeah, a band of prophets met him; and the spirit of God possessed him, and he fell into a prophetic frenzy along with them.

The band of prophets that really was a BAND.

Bad idea. Instead you should 'sing a new song'. Plus how long would you sing that song?

Oh yes you have totally read my mind.

Other U2 songs that would be good:

Gloria
October
Yahweh
The First Time (sans "I threw it all away")

As well as parts of other songs, but all those songs are obvious hymns from start to finish.

That would be cool.
There are some amazing pieces of work out there that could make for very powerful spiritual pieces.

Wait, I thought all spiritual pieces were composed prior to 1900.

Prophetic Frenzy would be a good name for a rock band.
