Handel's Messiah
I know it's way off and I'm admittedly a bit of a Grinch when it comes to Christmas, but in light of church music or religious music I thought this was an appropriate topic.
For many years running now our Stake combines with a Multi-Faith Orchestra and Choir to perform their rendition of Handel's Messiah every year. It's very popular and very cool. They typically rotate which building it's held in too. One year they held it in our Stake Center. Another year they held it in a Lutheran Chapel, another year a different denomination and thus the rotation basis continues. I think it's pretty cool to do some inter-faith stuff like that on occasion.

Our stake has a creche festival every December in which there are hundreds of creches (nativities) displayed for public viewing. During the times the festival is open choirs from all of the area churches are invited to come and perform. So far, not many have taken us up on the offer, but those that have were impressive. I think the idea is great.
Our stake also participated in an interfaith choir at Christmas last year. It went over pretty well from what I hear. |

I enjoy Handel's Messiah. At BYU there was always that singalong, and Snoozing and I would go.
It's beautiful, inspiring music.
