Default Moreni makes me think Landis probabyl did cheat.

I will try to keep this succint. Landis tested positive for exogenous testosterone. One of the reaosns I found this unlikely was becasue of the paucity of evidence that testosterone has the sort of short terms effect that would have helped Landis. ANecdotal evidecn emerged that said a lot of riders like Testotsterone patches to help them recover and that they work well, although some said they work only as placebos. Then Moreni tests positive.

Moreni has done OK over hte last few years but is not distinguished. He was finsihing the mountain stages in the bottom half or even bottom third of the field. He had very little to gain interms of glory, yet he did have a job to keep and he was an undisitnguished domestique and so, after a very hard day in the saddle with another to come, he apprently chose to use a little testosterone to help him recover. He was gambling and hoping not to be tested, but he drew short straw and was one of the random tests for that day. He did not contest the result, btw, and did not even ask that a B sample be tested. He simply admitted that he cheated.

SO if a schlub like MOreni uses testosterone to help him keep his job, it makes it more likely to me that Landis did too, to salvage his last tour before what he knew would be a hip operation. I often wonder if Landis surprised even himself. I think he prehaps didn't expect to win the stage that day and so didn't think he would be tested. Moreni clearly thought he wouldn't be tested. IT all adds up to more cheating, which is too bad.
