Initially when Brinn and Matt let it be known
they were having a baby, there was actually some excitement on BYU sports boards. Not for the USC couple and the child, but the possiblity there would be a famous sports figure who could become LDS.
It was kind of like, yea they committed the nasty one, but if he becomes mormon who cares. A lot of LDS people feel that way. There are probably even a bigger percentage of the "I love the honor code" folks who feel that way than the regular membership. Of course we are almost a year later and Matt isn't LDS and Brinn's brother Cameron went off to USC. They are now treated on the boards much like the neighbor who after 6 months hasn't joined the church. |
