Default If I were president of the LDS Church...

(this was obviously inspired by FMCoug's post)...

I would implement these changes:

1. No more home teaching
2. 2 hour church block instead of 3 (1:15 sacrement mtg + :45 sunday school; no more EQ/RS)
3. Fast and testimony meeting once per quarter instead of once per month, possibly doing away with it altogether.

I would think it would make more sense to keep EQ/RS and get rid of SS.

Living prophets? Last I checked, Brigham Young, Heber J. Grant, Harold B. Lee, David O. McKay, and Spencer W. Kimball were all dead.

Not bad. I'll vote for this platform.

I'd get to work on the Ensign - Swimsuit Issue and implement a mandatory retirement age for GA's.

Scottie --

I agree with your first two, but I actually enjoy F&T as it's a nice break from the usual bland sacrament meeting talks. We once had a recent convert from Eastern Europe yelling in his native tongue about Satan. Good times for all!!!

I'd also officially renounce Packer's "Factory" talk and SWK's statements that playing with your factory leads to homosexuality. That stuff really screwed with me as a teenager.

So that you can tell me to shut up and call me an idiot and claim that I do nothing in church?:

For those unable to view religious discussions on Cougarboard, this was his post:

Author: Indy Coug
Subject: For all you losers that complain about church

Body: Shut up. Too many of you are the idiots that sponge off of the hard work of the others at church while you sit on your butts in the back corner and do nothing.

LOL.

I would make the Sunday School hour last, and replace it with the Whining Hour. I'd put the bishop in a room for 45 minutes, and invite all apostates and disaffected members to come in and complain about everything he's doing wrong. Once a month, a member of the stake presidency would come, where they could be instructed on what the stake should do better.

All those who have no complaints about the church could skip the meeting and go home.
