Default the stake president in my parents ward had an interesting announcement

all men must wear white shirts and be clean shaven. All women must wear nylons and no sandals.

Her bishop also does not schedule talks, he calls people up at random out of the congregation to discuss certain topics. He does give the topics the week before and he expects everyone to go home and study them.

My mom told me that the foyers have never been so full.

Ahh... another chance for membership to have their faith tried to see if they will be obedient in all things. Good for them.

I have always liked the concept the Catholic schools have of the kids all wearing the same uniform. That way kids all learn in an environment where they feel equal to each other, at least from a material standpoint.

I would like to see that concept eventually incorporated in the church. We could avoid the petty "keeping up with the Jones" and other problems.

We should have a church uniform that everyone wears throughout the church.

Exactly. We should incorporate the uniform concept everywhere, not just the Temple.

I love this kind of thing. There are few places where you can be a badass by simply wearing a blue shirt and not shaving.

I am sure that is a line Warren Jeffs uses. "Little girl, this is a good chance for you to have your faith tried and see if you will be obedient in all things."

That is awesome.

However, my stake president banned untoward haircuts for the YM, including crew cuts.

I never thought I would see the day when a crew cut or buzz was considered subversive.
