x2.

You can even name the old school boys too...Shamrock, Severn, Tank Abbott, Kimo etc.

MMA will continue to grow. Like Fusnik noted, guys that dominate in MMA are rare because of the frequency with which they fight. Most of these guys fight several times a year, unlike boxers who fight once every year. Plus you don't have promoters to bungle fights. Instead in the UFC you have Dana White who wants to grow his sport and puts together good fights, perhaps to his detriment with several of his stars losing in recent matches, but that's part of the intrigue too.

Boxing will always have it's place. But MMA is going to continue to grow.

MMA will continue to grow as long as people are interested in the cheap and vulgar.

The Gracie family is the reason MMA is what it is today. Because of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu MMA is a legitimate sport not just a vulgar cheap sister to boxing.

Emlianko is the best fighter in the world right now at any weight
Coleman made ground and pound a dominate style
Randleman took ground and pound to another level
Pulver created the 155 weight class
Hughes (although I hate the dude) dominated a weight class like maybe nobody else
Gome is the best Japanese fighter of all time

Mike you should YouTube some Pride fights start with Silva, go to Cro Cop, watch some Barnett, check out Nogueria, and watch Emlianko, and after tell me MMA is vulgar and cheap.

I had a roommate who loved MMA and was a big Gracie fan. If I remember right he credits Gracie for making submission holds as big as they are now.

Apparently some guys will just lie there on the ground taking a beating to the face while working at getting a good hold on their opponent. And if you get a good one, that's it. You win.
