For today's final round of the US Open, the 8th hole at Oakmont is 300 yards from tee to cup and it's a par 3.

I love how brutal the Open is.

Tiger said that its against his religion to hit a driver on a par 3. He actually just hit 2 iron and was on target but it skipped in the rough. A 2 iron 300 yards is unbelievable.

Whats amazing about Oakmont is hole number 2 is a par 4 that is only 307 yards.

This Course is eating everyone up right now.

Yep. The Open is the greatest of the majors because it makes the pros manage the course and not just shoot for low scores.

And 300 yards with a 2 iron is shades of Karl Spackler's Cinderella experience. All he has to do is knock in the 180 yard 9 iron now.
