My thoughts:
One thing I’ve noticed about Bronco’s defense is the D plays with a lot of emotion, a lot of passion meaning…..they overrun the play, they’re not wrapping up because they’re trying to “lay the wood on someone.” 2 plays in particular that really killed the cougars last night. 1. the 30-yard run that should have been stopped behind the line of scrimmage. I watched 5 white jersey’s attack and tackle the pile while the running back cut back and scored a touch down. I couldn’t believe the over pursuit. 2nd play was that horrible brain fart at the end of the first half. Where was the CBack going? He made such a strange break on the ball I couldn’t believe it. The offense looked great but abandoned the run very early….but then again, they had to being down 35-14. No way a Crowton team makes a comeback being behind by that much. All in all it was a great game to watch. I didn’t like the outcome but the game was very entertaining. Nice of Watkins to show up.

I agree fun game to watch
I never once doubted teh BYU offense, 3 drives of over 90 yards. Watkins really came to play and made 3 outstanding catches. The Defense was suspect at best, the play at the end of the half was a real momentum killer as was Marshawns cut back run, if Cameron Jensen stays home he has him wrapped up instead he overpursued.
Like Fuegote said BYus defense is so aggressive that Counters, and cutback lanes are always there. That is why we struggle against the small speedy backs. |

Until Bronco can teach his defense the fundementals of tackling, it won't matter what scheme he uses, they will stink.
Not wrapping up a tackle, hitting the running back up high when he is at full speed, not looking for the ball in the air, over running the play and not playing a position; these all need to be taught to be successful. He is great with the intensity, pride and fortitude, but not basic fundemental defensive football.
