Default We Are Marshall

is worthy of watching.

It depicts a rare and painful event, involving the deaths of an entire team and boosters.

It may be predictable, but measured.

It captures the concept of small college towns and their adoration of their teams.

Even though it is slightly manipulative, it is moving.

I've heard it is well worth seeing. I may have to see it now, based on your recommendation.

Marist won tonight.

The acting is good.

Sweet. I need to get back to following Marist more closely.

My friends who saw "We are Marshall" had no idea the story before they went to see it. They were moved by what was told in the film.

Who's in it?

Matthew McGanaghey spelling? He does a credible job. Some people might argue that the acting didn't require lots of range, and artsy fartsy types might not find the subject matter edgy enough.

And a bunch of unknowns.

I vaguely remember the news broadcasts when I was a kid but had never heard of it.

This movie brings to life the tragedy.

The point of the moview is to illustrate college connection to a small town, how tragedy can tear it apart and how it can be rebuilt. My children all enjoyed it.

You might not view as edgy enough, but I enjoyed, but maybe I'm just a sap.

I'm not saying the script and film is without flaws, but if you enjoy the genre, it's worth it. It's not nearly as good as Miracle or Hossiers, but it's a good flick.

I like that kind of movie. It also has the most important criterion for me to see a movie - it's a true story.

Thanks to you and Rocky for informing me of Matthew McConnowhatever - I like most everything he's been in, but not that horrific nightmare with Sarah Jessica Parker.

My favorite Matthew McConaughey role, by far, is that of Wooderson from Dazed and Confused. My favorite McConaughey line from that movie:

That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.

My second favorite line:

We got 4:11 Positrac outback, 750 double pumper, Edelbrock intake, bored over 30, 11 to 1 pop-up pistons, turbo-jet 390 horsepower. We're talkin' some f&$%n' muscle.

He was great in that movie. I connected with Mitch (the incoming freshman) in that film because I was about that age for the time period and my cousin was a to be senior and was my biggest tormentor yet allowed me to hang out with him and his friends.

Funny thing is, there was a Wooderson in the group I ran around with that summer. I suppose there's a Wooderson everywhere, eh?
