I actually just started it. Only about 30 pages in. So far it's been focusing on Booth's activities leading up to and setting up the assassination

The building of the Panama Canal.

I was fascinated to learn that the French attempted to build the canal first and failed. One of the biggest financial disasters/scandals in history.
