So at the gym I've started incorporating the bike into my cardio workout. Not a lot, just 10-15 minutes at the end. My legs feel great; unfortunately my crotch doesn't. Please don't tell me I'm going to have to develop a crotch callous to have it not hurt.

those gym bike seats are not indicative of a good seat.
but your crotch will toughen; it is inevitable. After a while, you'll do eight hours in the saddle easy.

If it's pressure, it will get better. The muscles in the perineum will build up.
If it's chafing, then you need bicycle shorts. Quality ones. |
