Default McChrystal on 60 minutes tonight

Hope you got to see it, and if you didn't, I hope you catch a web replay.

I hope he gets a fair chance to win this war.

It would be a shame for Obama and Congress to cut him off at the knees.

Mike - I didn't get a chance to watch it. However, lots of the troops are talking about it. Frankly, I for one (granted I am conservative and have serious disagreements with the current commander and chief) am glad that we have a military leader who is not afraid to go out on limb to support the soldiers beneath him.

In the last 7 days, we have had over 35 casualties. These are just the ones that have made it back to us. While Obama is trying to push his socialist agenda down the throats of tax paying Americans, our soldiers are dying. I think this is why McCrystal has kept the pressure on the President by going in front of the media.

He has a responsibility to his soldiers to give us the best chance for victory. I am glad that he is willing to put his career on the line for the guys on the line to petition the powers that be to put the kind of troops here that need to be here.

Last month, just my FST (Forward Surgical Team) treated more casualties than the entire Iraqi theater. I am taking care of these seriously injured soldiers, performing major operations (exploratory laparotomies, thoracotomies, vascular surgery, cardiac surgery) on a stretcher in a freaking tent! The guys in MASH had better facilities than what I have to work with. WHY? Why are there 3 times the number of troops and assets in Iraq when that is not where the war is? Either we fight this war to win it, or we get out. Let's not bleed these kids to death before we realize that it just isn't politically expedient anymore. We can't go out on humanitarian missions because there aren't enough soldiers to provide security.

On the other hand, if they put enough troops in this country to show the local populace that we are committed to winning the war, and protecting them and their families from the Taliban, we will be able to push these bastards from this country for good. Afghanistan used to be a lush, beautiful country with an economy other than opium. Once the soviets invaded and destroyed their irrigation systems this placed was decimated. Oh, and by the way they mined the hell out of this place. (Afghanistan has the highest landmine concentration in the world. Thanks Russians. Especially making them look like toys. Reference "Butterfly Mine".)

This is why I didn't vote for Obama.

I looked at his record and saw that he had never had to make a difficult choice. His entire life had been paved by powerbrokers.

No doubt a smart man, but never placed in the fire before. And had never demonstrated he could make a choice that would upset those closest to him.

So here we are with him making signals that he will renege on his original campaign and early presidency statements, that he would win the war in Afghanistan, that he claimed Bush neglected.

I hope he doesn't choose the Biden "remote control war" option, and then claim that the Taliban will not take the country over. He has lied before, he will lie again. For political expediency.

He is furious at McChrystal, because Obama would love for public momentum to be against the war in Afghanistan, allowing him to make an easy choice to get out of the war. But w/ McChrystal really advocating to win the war, he has limited Obama's options on deceiving the American people. McChrystal has pushed this as far as he can. He can't do anymore. He will be fired if he does. And likely will already be fired at the first politically convenient opportunity already.

In some respects I hope that he does, so he and his party of liberal fascists can own the defeat in Afghanistan.

Biden's remote control war is nothing more than what Clinton tried to do back in the late 90's by launching cruise missiles at factories here in Afghanistan. They don't want to get their hands bloody and they don't have the cajones to make a tough decision.

What is Biden going to say when the Taliban are cutting off the hands of women, and hanging them from soccer goal posts in their national stadium?

He will claim not to own it. But he will.

He'll probably say it reminds him of the Nephites.
