Default Obama ban on once-fired military brass casings?

That is the rumor that is going down right now. It's all over the gun websites.

Some doubt it, others are convinced.

A big seller of ammo has this as their frontpage:
http://georgia-arms.com/

Apparently, these once-fired brass casings are pretty important, in terms of keeping down the cost of this ammunition. I say "keeping down" with some irony, because the price is already crazy.

This would be the equivalent of the govt. selling once-used glass milk bottles at auction, but crushing them first. Obviously, intact glass bottles have more value to milk sellers than crushed glass.

Personally, I have my doubts over whether this rumor is true. And even if true, it could simply be yet more noob incompetence by the Obama admin, without any real intent towards gun control, and will be corrected. On the other hand, it could be the first step towards the 500% ammunition tax that many believe Obama will try to institute.

Quote:
This claim is based on an article that appeared in the Chicago Defender on Dec. 13, 1999, when Obama was in the Illinois state Senate. According to the Defender, at an anti-gun rally, Obama "outlined his anti-gun plan," which, among other things, sought to "increase the federal taxes by 500 percent on the sale of firearm, ammunition [sic] -- weapons he says are most commonly used in firearm deaths." As a U.S. senator, however, Obama has not pushed for any such tax on ammunition.

The gun shop owners are absolutely brilliant. Start a rumor, watch the sales skyrocket. Brilliant.

I was at a gun show, and one seller had evil black rifles (AR-15s, which are considered assault weapons) for sale, and on top of them he had printed out and laminated a quote from Eric Holder regarding an Assault Weapons Ban.

Of course, the guns were not priced cheaply.

The reason for the panic is that 1994 lingers in the mind, and while the prices right now are high because of the panic, they are a fraction of what they will be in the future if Obama does what he says he wants to do.

They learned from the best. Rumors of experience helped Obama get elected.

If you'd pull your head out of Obama's ass, it would.

Yes, rumors of experience. Obama has none, yet you and all the other sycophants tried to claim he did.
