The fact that there is no open criticism of Bush, a diastrous president, from the right, is an indication that the party is not intellectually honest, and is in fact in death throes.

The neocons led by Bush and Cheney have destroyed the republican party.

It's kinda amusing that you keep conflating me with Ann Coulter, SU. Is this your new campaign?

So in the general election, this makes Huckabee more of a liability to McCain than an asset.
I think this is the key ... McCain wins with large numbers of independants voting along side the moderates. If he is stupid enough to add Huckabee to his ticket he would end up alienating his base, leaving him baseless.

Moderates and independants will vote democractic and there are not enough evangelicals to win McCain/Huckabee the presidency.

Huckabee never wanted to be President. He has been running for the position of McCain's veep all along. Note that McCain has been the front-runner, but rather than attacking the front-runner, Huckabee attacked Romney and solely Romney, while saying very little about McCain in hopes of staying in his good graces. The little tulip does not want to run a country; he wants to go to Idaho schools and misspell "potatoe" and go quail hunting with his buddies.

What benefit is there in criticizing a lame duck. Notice nobody is enlisting his support? That silence is quite telling right then and there.

I suppose it's wiser to ignore him, in case something resurrects his image in the future than to destroy him for all purposes. Frankly, I don't see any value in destroying Bush more than has been done. His family still has ties and money, why marginalize that even more?
