My wife is not a fan of rock, so the only stuff I can get past the moderators has to be more "pop" oriented...so, in other words, "Sweet Home Alabama" or even an appearance by "Free Bird" or "Cinnamon Girl" would cut it. However, "Smoke on the Water" or "Immigrant Song" would be too much for a family drive. We are driving up to Utah on Friday and I am already working on my playlists. I think a classic rock playlist would be a nice expansion of our normal routine. Lebowski and Archaea, as self-professed lovers of classic rock, any suggestions for my playlist (remember, not too much axe grinding or screaming, otherwise TripletMommy will turn it off)? Thanks in advance.

Oh my, you are whipped. I would have suggested Zep IV and Houses of the Holy. Then Rush 2112. A Jethro Tull album would make it nice. Guns and Roses, AC DC, but it appears you're left to Allison Krause, James Blunt, Bread, James Brown, and some chick music. Kansas, Journey, Foghat, Allman Brothers, Angel? Joan Baez, try some of that, she'll never know the difference. Or, who was Lance Armstrong's squeeze for a while, the one who doesn't wish to use toilet paper?

Just as long you don't abuse the Creekster.

Kansas is a good idea, lots of possibilities there. I have some of their discs. Journey's Greatest Hits has seen respectable airplay in our car and home, so that would be a good add, too. I have to draw the line at Sheryl Crow. She is terribly annoying. What Foghat or Allman would you suggest? Led Zep isnt entirely out of the question, but I dont think tunes like Black Dog will make the cut. Maybe something like D'yer Mak'er, which can be quite charming. My wife listens to almost everything I listen to, so my concession to her is that I dont try to play the "heavier" stuff...I will take that deal all day long. I am proud to say my wife does not own a single Afterglow or Janice Kapp Perry CD (although she does have Celine Dion's "Let's Talk about Love," which I have literally used as a coaster, just to prove a point to her).

Unfortunately, Little Creekster has already been in the toilet, albeit a "clean" one.
Out of respect, he was also subsequently laundered and then dried with Bounce. Little Creekster may actually smell better than his namesake at this point (the gibbon, I mean......)

I went to itunes and sampled Raising Sand.
It should be called "Pounding Sand." Jar-Jar Binks says: Meesah no liken! You are correct....the likeability factor increases when RP is involved.

The first two songs are unlistenable but the other songs get better. The tenth song is almost something you'd expect from RP. I'm terrible with names of songs, I just listen to them in order.

Who go through all that effort? It would be easier to just listen to LZ or RP and skip the nashville.
