Default Constant Gardener...

Watched it tonight. Really didn't get into it. Wasn't interested in the characters, didn't really think the conflict or pull was very much.

Acting, directing, music ok......but kind of boring.

And I am a fan of LeCarre's books. Just not sure they translate well into movies (haven't read this book though).

Perhaps I'm wrong, but isn't that about someone who has chosen a career tending to trees, flowers and shrubs?

I hated the preaching ending, at the funeral, about how *we* are all using the Africans. Everyone hates the pharmaceutical companies, until they need drugs.

I loved Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

I think any of them could be translated into movies. It's just harder to do than other spy novels that depend less on character development and dialogue and rely on crash scenes and shoot outs. Le Carre is no Ian Fleming knock off.

I enjoyed the movie. Though it was obviously not fast moving, I thought that it kept a good pace with mystery.

I have no problem with them going after the pharma industry. Yes, they do some good...but they also do a lot of bad and I don't mind seeing them portrayed in a negative light at all.

I watched Constant Gardner this weekend. Didn't do much at all for me. Cinemetography was good. Plot was mildly interesting but far-fetched. Overall I thought it was grossly overrated. I want my 120 minutes back.

Agreed, I watched it about a month ago and without question it was one of the most overated movies of the last year.

Slow moving, boring and in spite of it's best tries of manipulation I just didn't give a crap about the characters.
