Default Some of you will be very happy

I was playing basketball at work yesterday. Was going for a layup, had beat my man, then suddenly I am hit in the back, and go flying forward underneath the basket, and BOOM the guy's leg or foot strikes me squarely in the nose.

My eyes were watering like crazy, bloody nose, the whole bit.

I think he was falling and his head was near the floor, but his leg was lifted up in the air, and my head must have been going down after I was hit.

I think this guy was pissed because I had a pretty nice clean block on him last week. So he takes a cheapshot hard foul. I will have to block his shot again on Thurs. show him how it's done.

As a teenager, we'd get together once or twice a week and play basketball almost year round. As I got older and I moved around a bit, I kept trying to find people to play with (although I'm a fairly mediocre player, even for church-level ball).

Over the past ten years, other things have interfered, and I maybe get together with others to play at the church two or three times a year. Sometimes, I think about the "good old days", and miss it.

But this reminds why maybe I shouldn't miss it so much.

I am not happy, I wish, I was the one that kicked you in the face.

Man...this is the reason I don't play basketball anymore. I hyper-extended on knee one year ...and then the other knee a year after that.

Too many "back in the day" players...get people hurt and it's not worth it anymore for me to take that risk.
