I'm torn on this. I appreciate the beauty and art and message of many movies with R rated themes. I completely disagree with the mullah (for lack of better word) take that nudity/sex/language whatever is always gratuitous and never contributes to the movie.
Involving children is a little bit different and adds a sickening element that pervs might watch stuff like this to get off. But on the flip side, I might say it's important to show this stuff in its raw form. It's shocking and brutal. But child abuse is a major element in our society. And it might be good for society in general to shine a light on it, and internalize the effects of it the way good filmmaking can do. |

No worries. I'd read in the press about the concerns over the child rape scene and I've already watched the theatrical trailer as well.
