Across the universe
ANyone interested in seeing this? ANyone heard anyhting about it already? It looks pretty interesting to me, but I am of a certain age and so the soundtrack may resonate a little better with me than with others.
The songs are all great, needless to say, and the film has to be better than the travesty that the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton pushed on America using many of the same tuners in the late 70s. My wife doesn't want to see it, I suspect becasue she is afraid I will sit there and sing along with all the tunes (and I probabyl will) so I need someone to tell me it is good so I can try to convince her to go.

I thought we should both get girlfriends for the night showing, go and then tell our wives we went alone so that they wouldn't have to endure it.

No GF for me. Even if I wanted one, I don't htink I could convince someone to be my girflried for 15 minutes, let alone an entire evening. I am even surprised my wife puts up with me.

For five hundred dollars, I am quite certain you could find a momentary girlfriend. I just thought I could say, I'm with him and Mr. Big Bucks is paying to attract one for me.

Your son is attending a fancy smancy Ivy League school, whereas mine attends a discount institution.
You look and sound like Mr. Big Bucks to me.

The ivies would be surprised to learn of the expansion of their club. The fact that he is attending the school is one of many reasons I am definitely not mr. Big bux. Mr. Big butt, perhaps, but not bucks.

Rocky, rocky, rocky. If only we could get you to be more assertive and opinionated. Maybe with time. Of course, we wouldn't want you to lose your disarming subtlety.
