I was watching a piece on CNN tonight that showed that 60% of Muslims under age 30, answered that they were Muslims first and Americans second. Meanwhile 39% of older Muslims answered that they were Muslims first and Americans second.
In the past I have asked this question to a number of my friends and most of them respond that they are Mormons first and Americans second. So which is it with you? You can make the question mean whatever you want it to mean, with no further guidance on what exactly it means. |

I consider myself a Mormon first, and here is my logic:
I can immediately identify with and can communicate with other Mormons even if they are from other nations. I do not automatically identify with a person just because they are American. I identify and communicate better with a Taiwanese Mormon than with the average American, partly because the average American gives me crap for being Mormon. |
