I don't think this is in any way shape or form a milk/meat issue. This is a true/false issue. WHEN it is taught, teach it correctly. The fact is, it is not taught correctly even a majority of the time, if even a small fraction of the time. The reason this is not a milk/meat issue is that even the most mature members of the church have learned that the xlation method was the U&T with the breastplate, and that's what they'll tell you. Don't feed the members rotten meat! ;-)
