I'm gonna miss Bronco the technocrat.
Although Detmer is more of a schemer and will work harder to exploit the opponent's weaknesses. |

If you believe the numerous reports about Detmer over his 14 years in the NFL, coaches reportedly loved having him around because of how well he understood the game and how good he was at helping the other QBs understand what they should be doing. He certainly didn't stick in the NFL that long because of his size or arm strength or anything like that. He clearly understands the game extremely well.

Ty, when he was a player, was a "aw shucks" and "yes, sir/ma'am" and "no, sir/ma'am" kind of guy.
It's his personality to be humble on the exterior, but fiercely competitive on the interior. I actually like this style a lot. Speak softly and carry a big stick. Lou Holtz had this style. Self-deprecating, but going to take it to you. I wouldn't over-analyze anything he says. |
