Perry's brain-freeze moment
I was watching the debate Wed. evening, but was time-delayed and preparing to leave the house. So I run over to the corner on National Review and see a link to Perry's moment (which I hadn't watched on TV yet). You all know how much I can't stand Perry, so I was very much amused and pleased. But at the same time, it was so bad, so painful, that I actually felt bad for him.
I hope this has finally killed his chances to be President. I came across this article which had an interesting take on the moment. The only person to try and throw Perry a life-life (i.e. help him) was Romney. http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinio...A9M_story.html One gets the sense that Romney has very much avoided attacking his competitors. He wants their endorsements. He is hoping to get the nomination, and get whole-hearted support from these folks. The person perhaps least likely to support Romney is Perry. Yet we see Romney (possibly) trying to be helpful in Perry's most difficult moment. Was it possible the "EPA" comment was gibe? Maybe. Hard to say. |
