Slumdog Millionaire
Ok, there must be something terribly wrong with me.
I watched the movie this weekend, finally, and while I liked it and thought it was good, I did not think it was mind-blowingly good. I thought it was somewhat trite and predictable, and while you have the appreciate the difficulties of making this kind of film, I was not moved to the extent that I expected to be. Perhaps the result of overblown expectations? Enjoyed the performances of the youngest actors. And yes, Freida Pinto has to be one of the cutest women on the planet. |

I finally got around to watching this myself. I guess I didn't know too much about it because it was much different than I expected. I expected more feel-good and less feel sick to my stomach. It was good, yes, but not all-time good. Being best picture for the year certainly doesn't mean as much as it ought to.
