Anyone else running in the Huntsville half marathon?
I just signed up for the Huntsville 1/2 Marathon on September 8th. Anyone else planning on running it?

No, but I ran it last year. I'll be running the Pocatello Marathon the week before, and my boy has a football game, so I won't be able to make it. Pretty fun race, though.
My wife ran the 5k last year and took 3rd in her age group. I was proud of her. |

Is it a pretty flat race? Lots of hills?

No, it's not flat. The hills out there aren't too bad, though. I remember the first hill was about .50 mile into it, then they just kind of roll for a while until you cut up through a neighborhood. I remember it went on to some kind of a little trail at one point, and there was a sheet of plywood we ran over to cross a canal, so be careful there. It used to be operated by Stride Racing, and they sold it to Strider's Running Store, IIRC. So the route may change.
Last year I finished 70th out of 184. It was a fun race. I enjoyed not being crowded in with a bunch of other runners. I was mostly by myself at least the last 5 miles. 70 SHANE B RIVERTON UT 152 34 1:48:54 8:19/M |

I couldn't support anything sponsored by Striders.
The Ogden Valley is a pretty place, don't fall in love with the Ogden area we strive to keep the riff raff out. |

Holy crap, seriously, when did Ogden Valley become a pretty place? I was there last week and didn't see it. Did they move Ogden to someplace pretty?

Ogden is where the riff raff is. But I suppose it's relative, eh?

Don't confuse Ogden with the Ogden Valley. It's beautiful along the Wasastch Back. We have a cabin up in the Eden/Liberty area, and I can't go up there enough.
