I'm now over 300 pages into his novel "Warbreaker" which he offers for free in PDF format on his website. Also published here:
http://www.amazon.com/Warbreaker-Tor.../dp/0765360039 I wouldn't be that far in unless it had captured my interest. It's not great literature in the mode of the great authors in history, but the story pulls me along and the characters are distinct, and the world he has created is unique. |

finished the book. end didn't have the dramatic tension u would have liked. not great literature. but an interesting diversion written with competency. things move along. unique magic system.

One of the interesting things in the book was the religious system. And a central character who is a god, but doesn't believe he is a god.
This idea could have been developed further. It was one of the nice nuggets in the book. I think I will try another of his more notable books and see what happens. |
