What is the most famous game you've attended?
Was anyone here in SLC in 1979 to witness Magic vs. Larry I?
Or in Lake Placid in 1980 to see the Miracle on Ice? I know a guy who was at Super Bowl 23, the "John Candy" comeback game. And another who saw Iron Mike bite Evander's ear. Personally, I've never seen a championship, but I was in the stands at the Delta Center for game 5 of the NBA Finals, Michael Jordan's so-called "flu" game. I was surprised to hear he was sick. He had looked fine to me. What was the biggest, most hyped sporting event you were at? |

Sadly, the most hyped game I was at wasn't even a game. It was the slam dunk contest for the NBA all-star game when it was in SLC back in 93 (?). I believe Harold Miner won it. I remember being pretty bored.
I've been to lots of pro and college games, but none that even approached legendary. |

I was at the Bird/Magic game in '79...
my Dad purchased tickets to the Final Four that year and it was a good time. I had no idea at the time how monumental a game that would turn out to be. I don't know if anyone did.
I've been to several World Series games. I was supposed to be in the Bay Area for a series game back in '89, but the earthquake changed those plans. A friend of mine was there for that and he said that it happened so quickly that nobody in the stands was really sure what exactly happened. He said that it was like a wave rolled through the stadium and was more fun than any ride at Disneyland.

I was also able to attend one of the Jazz/Bulls Finals games. The Jazz won the one I went to.
It was one of the best times at a Sporting event I ever had. |

USA v Costa Rica last year for the WCQ. If you haven't been to a World Cup Qualifier, I highly recommend it.
The atmosphere was amazing and the play on the pitch is the best you'll see.

I haven't been to a lot of "great games" in my life, but the atmosphere and excitement of the WSQ was off the charts. Only thing I've been to that was comparable was BYU-Miami, except I went to that when I was young and impressionable. Went to the WCQ game as a full-on hyper-realist and was still blown away. o

One of my dreams is to now be a member of Sam's Army and go to all the WQC's and World Cup matches.

Gonzaga v. Arizona double overtime game in the 2003 (I believe) NCAA tournament. Best game I have ever been too by far.
