BYU's offense is an example of how good an offense can be with only two good players. Hoffman and the 17 year old running back.
Everyone else is at best mediocre. Reilly Nelson is pretty good for a slow running quarterback with a weak arm, poor accuracy, and the inability to see the field. Which is to say that he is the worst BYU QB of my generation. It's our terrible luck that he has not been injured this season. And of course it's our terrible luck to have coaches who develop man crushes on players, and don't put better players on the field. I'm afraid that we have a head coach who is not afraid that he can lose his job. And it's showing on the field. Folks, it's getting close to the time that we must do what we have always done before. Vote with our feet and our wallets. We won't get change until Holmoe and the others see empty seats everywhere. |

Doesn't it seem like every offense in the country can run the spread, throw the ball, score points EXCEPT us??
We're operating on the Univ. of Alabama model with Utah high school all-stars. It's NOT going to work. The only two decent players we have on offense are non-LDS, and are not white. The OL operates on the same principal as the Dallas Cowboys--throw away positions, why put good resources into the big guys? You freaking telling me that Idaho cannot produce 5 farm boys that can hit someone in the mouth and move the line of scrimmage? I'm literally ill from this debacle. |
