It's been very entertaining, but its over. Or it will be over very soon. Good article on the Washington Post Sunday edition which urges Republicans to start frankly acknowledging the likelihood of a democrat in the White House and focus every available resource on the Senate races. Those candidates for the Senate, in turn, should also acknowledge a Democrat White House, say they can work with one, and warn of the dangers of a liberal supermajority, particularly one that is filibuster-proof. Apparently as many as 8% of voters cast their ballots strategically to prevent either party form controlling everything.
I can get on board with that strategy. It is time for Republicans to think in terms of what can be salvaged.

A Palin quote, given at a rally in Indiana a few days ago...
“Last time I was here I got to tell a crowd that I had to give a national interview that didn’t go so well,” she said. “And it was because I was kind of annoyed with the questions that I was being asked because I thought they were kind of irrelevant to, you know, national security issues and getting our economy back on track, so I kind of showed some of that annoyance... ...But I think the one question that I answered that everyone could agree on, it maybe shows where my heart is… too is, she asked me this relevant question: What was my favorite movie? And I said ‘Hoosiers!’”

One rule in presidential politics: you do not prematurely admit defeat. You admit it once it's final, and never before. A lot more is riding on that than just your sorry presidential butt.

When I got ready for church today, my husband told me I looked like Palin. I told him to spot me 150k and I'd complete the look.
